Hi,
I am a fanatical skier who enjoys teaching people something and guiding them enthusiastically. I skied for the first time as a 10 year old in 1973. I haven't missed a year yet. During my training as a Physical Education Teacher in 1984, we went through the Austrian ski plan during the ski week. From that moment until 2003, I gave ski lessons for 1 or 2 weeks every year during the spring breaks and Christmas holidays in Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Andorra. These were trips for a Dutch travel agency that I also guided from 1989 onwards.
I didn't teach skiing for the next 15 years. Of course I continued to ski!
In 2018 I decided to follow my passion and start ski lessons again. Because it had been a long time since I had taught and some things had changed with the arrival of carving skis, I decided to first get my Anwärter ski certification. I then taught at an Austrian ski school for the rest of the season. The following years I only taught during the high season weeks.
At the end of 2021 I obtained my Austrian Skilehrer-Landes 1 and subsequently taught at the Austrian ski school for the full season.
In December 2022 I completed the Alpinkurs and after 6 weeks in Austria I went to Iceland where I taught skiing for Iceland Snowsports for 3 months.
As a former sports teacher, I like more sports. When I'm not on my skis, I can be found on my racing bike or mountain bike, on the tennis court or padel court. Years ago I instructed windsurfing and squash.
In addition to Alpine skiing, I started with Telemark skiing in 2015. In the beginning I did it for fun, but I have become quite fanatical about it. I have joined Telemark Netherlands and I telemark 3 times a week in the indoor snow hall in Zoetermeer. I am happy to help you to ski with the free heel.
Whether you are a novice skier, an advanced skier or would like to try it with the free heel, I am happy to help you in Dutch, German or English.
I am looking forward to skiing with you in the Klosters-Davos Mountains!
